NNeng-M= Brian Moran, Molly Kittle, Benton-C Bainbridge, Nancy Meli Walker
Brian Moran received a residency at ETC and invited Molly Kittle, Nancy Meli Walker and Benton Bainbridge. The NNeng-M sessions were directed by Brian but the collaboration of artists, techniques and inspiration developed the work. Brian originally intended to create a dance, sound and video piece for performance in New York City.
Originally titled "Fever," "Sleep or Sweat" was the last piece we made during our Experimental Television Center residency. Nowadays there is software that emulates the oscillator-controlled Jones Colorizer (e.g.- Vidvox VDMX), but this was 1999... back when it could only be done at ETC.
A graduate of NYU's Tisch Experimental Theatre Wing, Molly Kittle's NYC based projects included sound driven movement and video, site-specific performance art, and character-driven theatre. In 2002 Molly shifted her medium to clay and, stopping every so often to work with other ceramic artists, made her way across the country to relocate in SF. Today, Molly can be seen creating a whole new type of "work..." at a start-up in Silicon Valley.
