Bridge is the first audiovisual performance artifact from Benton-C
Bainbridge and Evidence's new project, "Landscaping." Bainbridge,
Moore and Smallwood visit sites to simultaneously capture sounds and
moving pictures, using these 'found' recordings as the raw material
for live electronic performances. Using laptops, the trio 'performs
locations,' reworking painting's landscape tradition as a dynamic
temporal interchange between improvisers and audience.
Bridge was performed live to tape on 29 February 2004 from media
sampled at sunset on the Brooklyn Bridge. (a)Bridge is Bridge abridged.
Bridge has been screened at galleries and festivals including Lincoln Center's Walter Reade Theater as part of SYNAESTHESIOLOGISTS, a program of the 2004 New York Video Festival.
